Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District

Population: 33,521*

Located in the heart of Vancouver Island, the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD) is home to some of Vancouver Island’s most dramatic landscapes, from the snow-capped peaks of the Island’s rugged spine to the sandy shores and majestic sunsets of Long Beach.

Established in 1967, the ACRD is comprised of three member municipalities (the City of Port Alberni, the District of Tofino and the Resort Municipality of Ucluelet), four Treaty First Nations (Huu-ay-aht, Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ, Uchucklesaht Tribe Government and Toquaht Nation) and six electoral areas.

The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District was one of North Island 911’s five original member regional districts when the service was established in 1996.
